Memorial (Mixed Triples) Tournament

The final of this tournament, held annually to honor lawn bowlers and others who have passed away in the previous 12 months, was played on Monday, December 12th.
Twelve teams played over 4 days with the eventual winners being

The final of the Seniors' Tournament was played on Monday, November 21st with the winner being Ed Vinacco, pictured above.
Juniors' Tournament
(ages 75 to 80)
November 14 to 18, 2011
Winner - Phil Lascola
Runner Up - Dave Barrett
The final game of this tournament was played on Friday, November 18th. It was hot and sunny and both players toiled for two and a half hours for the privilege of becoming the Junior Singles Champion .
Neither player was prepared to yield without a fight; the winner was the one who reached 21 points or more first.
Throughout the afternoon, the players played "catch up" often and the numerous spectators were totally absorbed, continually applauding the good play.
Finally, with the score tied at 20-20, it was down to the last end to determine the Champion.
The eventual winner was Phil Lascola (left), winning with 22 points.
The Seniors' (80 and over) final game will be played on Monday November 21st.

Club Singles Championship
March 14 to 21, 2011
Linda McDougall, Ladies Club Singles winner was successful over Joe Mignona, the Men's Club Singles winner to win the coveted title of Club Champion on March 22nd, after a hotly contested match, as shown by the scores (above).
Linda won an exciting, strongly contested game against Annette Dispenziere, to become the Ladies Singles winner.
Joe triumphed over Bob Ferguson in the Men's Final after a close and equally exciting game.
Valentine's Day Triples
February 13, 2011
Sun City Center Lawn Bowling Club members celebrated Valentines on Sunday with a Fun Day Tournament, a chili lunch and a delicious high-cholesterol dessert to round things off.
Valentines was a great excuse to dress up in red and have a party!
The many dishes of Chili were judged and the winner was Donna Byrne , pictured above. The prize, a bottle of wine, was enjoyed by Donna and all of those sharing her table!
The six winners - who scored the highest number of points in the Fun Lawn Bowling tournament - were Rick Abell, Pam Abell, Joe Mignogna (top score), Pat Smith, Brenda Perkins and Gina Saxton (pictured left to right).
