Welcome to
Sun City Center Lawn Bowling Club
1009 N Pebble Beach Blvd
Sun City Center, FL 33573
Sun City Center, Florida, is a large, active adult community located between Tampa and Sarasota.
The Sun City Center Lawn Bowling Club is active 12 months of the year. Membership is mostly American and in the winter numbers are swelled with the return of snow birds from North America, Canada and the UK. The Club has just under 200 members - men and women - and open lawn bowling is played every morning, Monday to Saturday inclusive, with a number of tournaments and friendly matches against neighboring clubs and visiting clubs from abroad as well.
Visitors to Sun City Center who are staying with friends or relatives can become short-term members of the Lawn Bowling Club.
There are 3 full-sized well-maintained grass greens and a state-of-the-art Clubhouse.
Here in the US, lawn bowls is played outdoors only whereas in the United Kingdom, as well as down under in Australia and New Zealand, (where it is simply called bowls), it is played both indoors and outdoors. Wherever it is played, many folks of all ages enjoy this game in which
-
a 75- year old can beat a 25-year old,
-
women's teams consistently compete against men's teams,
-
mixed teams are the norm,
-
there is an active social side,
-
little or no practice is required.
P.S. Probably the most inexpensive sport in the country, annual club fees are mostly in the $100 range.

Please take time to visit the other features on our web site, and read about our history, the history of the game, look at some photos and check out several videos on how to lawn bowl by our past instructor Gretchen Meixner.
